Warning: mushiness is about to happen here. I am ecstatic to be engaged to my best friend. We laugh, a lot. And it’s perfect. Sharing our engagement pictures (well, some of them…I had to limit myself ‘cuz nobody wants to see 117 pictures of us, even if we are cute).
We met, we fell in love. The rest is history in the making.
I have friends who say that arguing every once in a while is good for a healthy relationship. Clay and I strongly disagree. We somehow were blessed enough to find in each other, an eerily similar viewpoint on how a relationship should work, and it doesn’t include arguments. We talk through everything. We talk about the things that need to be talked about. We solve problems together, we are open and transparent with each other. We have similar thoughts on finances, child raising, religion, politics (ugh, politics.), family, and so on and so forth. God has given us to each other and I can’t wait to spend forever with this man.
We know each other’s hopes and dreams (becoming best friends with Chip and Joanna Gaines is #1 on both our lists). We love, love, love, love, love pizza.
Being in a relationship is not hard when you love and respect both the person you are with and the relationship itself. Clay and I definitely heave our struggles. Raising a special needs child and balancing working different shifts are just a few. But we respect each other’s struggle and support each other when things seem hard.
July 1, 2017. This is the date I marry the man I love. I almost can’t wait (but I will, begrudgingly).
